To ensure promoting a desire of Higher quality education in students,the Speers Chemical Society of FCCU arranged a seminar on “Overview of Admission Procedure in American Universities and Financial Aid Opportunities” on February 1,2012.Miss Mehreen Noon-a senior educational Advisor at United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan(USEFP) delivered a presentation followed by the question answer session. This seminar remained very helpful for the students interested in applying for Masters and PhD abroad. They were told about the scholarships,admission criteria and application processes for various universities. The faculty and students remained in favor of such activities so that they can have the right knowledge at the right time through the right professionals.

An Information session regarding admission procedure for masters and and PhD in USA is being organized by SCS on February 1st,2012,Wednesday at 2:00pm in S-009. We will be having a 30 minutes (approx) lecture which will be followed by question & answer session.The guest speaker will be Madam Mehreen Noon,Educational Advisor at United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan.Senior Students are encouraged to attend the session.
“Developing New Paradigm for Drug Development-Our Research”
Speers Chemical Society at Forman Christian College University held a lecture on “Developing new paradigm for Drug- Development-Our Research” on Jan 10,2011.The lecture was supervised by Prof.Dr Dildar Ahmad(Chairman Chemistry Department) and Prof.Dr Seemal Jelani Advisor SCS). The guest speaker “Dr Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary” who is a well renowned scientist and Director at International Center of Chemical and Biological Sciences,Karachi University,very interestingly highlighted the work being done on drug development in Pakistan.Emphasizing on Epileptic seizure and its toxicological effects,he acknowledged the students of his great contributions towards this ailment.The objective of the activity was to provide adequate knowledge for therapeutic uses of plants.The topic proved to be so interesting and up-to-date that faculty members and students not only from the Chemistry Department but Biology Department also sought interest into this session.Students were thankful to the Advisor and the executive body of SCS for organizing such an informative lecture for them.
